Fürstenwalde/Spree is the district town of Oder-Spree and lies east of Berlin on the river Spree. The building stock is varied: the old town around St Mary's Cathedral contains Wilhelminian-era buildings and older properties, in some cases with original cast iron pipes from before 1920. On the edge of the town, prefab housing estates with central riser pipes and HT plastic pipes grew up in the 1970s and 1980s. In the outlying districts of Trebus, Kagel and Woltersdorf, single-family homes shape the picture, and since reunification numerous newbuilds have been added in the residential areas around the Fürstenwalde reservoir and in the village centres.
As the easternmost town in our regular service area, Fürstenwalde is firmly anchored in our route planning – no special rates, no surcharges. The Spree as the town's river creates a high groundwater table, making basements and main drain lines especially susceptible to backflow during heavy rain. On top of this comes the town's industrial heritage: the former Continental tyre plant and other commercial sites bring their own demands for waste pipes. The mix of historic old pipes, GDR-era plastic pipes and modern KG pipes calls for different cleaning methods – and that is exactly where our experience lies.
